behind the scenes

i created monkey as a part of my secondary school visual arts thesis. it was heavily inspired by the wonderful work of millionfish and holds a very special place in my heart!

my process began with writing down key ideas and then sketching accompanying visuals. most of these sketches carried over to the final version, but some went through revisions.

after the page layout was fully established, i did some stylistic exploration.

finally, it was time to sit down and get all of those pages done.

all of the hard work truly felt worthwile once i could physically hold the comic in my hands!
